We do not know much about this woman, but her story is such a great example of giving. Jesus had been in the temple watching the people as they came and went, making their offerings to the Lord. It was very crowded, but this woman drew his attention. She gave 2 small copper coins, which was not even a day's wages. He told his disciples of the widow's generosity. Her gift of everything she had meant more than all the offerings of the wealthy. She gave with confidence that the Lord would take care of her needs. She believed in her offering enough to know that even just 2 small coins had great value to God's kingdom. Her concern was not for herself.
Tomorrow.....questions for us to consider today regarding riches and giving.
